"(a 4.0 from nyit will get you where a 4.0 from anywhere else) was what I was arguing against. Just as how Michigan is not MIT, NYIT isnt UMich."

i agree, but a umich 3.0 is not better than an nyit 4.0 in eng, cs, architecture and some other majors. maybe in english literature :)

"Two of your quotes:
i can tell you that a 4.0 from nyit will get you where a 4.0 from anywhere else
i don't think anyone was saying that. nyit is definitely no mit
You contradicted yourself. "

i admitted this and i qualified my statement by saying that there are a handful of exceptions that make people go "Wow!" like mit and harvard. the worst student from harvard could probably dazzle some HR person somewhere.

"They come from Manhattan college, NYIT, Polytechnic, cuny queens and city and NYIT.
Id like to see your sources. Not because I dont believe you, and I dont"

i like that :) you might not believe me either since i don't have documented sources (and it might be easily researched), but from my own experience this is true. take out queens college and add njit, stevens tech, stonybrook and a bit further out rpi and rit and that pretty much covers the engineering workforce. actually nyit's contribution is relatively small. they have a larger presence in the architectural world.

hey, all this is probably not that important. i just didn't like my old school being blasted unfairly. it has served me and many of my friends very well. and good luck blehhh. ciao.

nguye89:
I didn't say the umich 3.00 thing and I realize that you were making a general comment when you said that, not anythign against I said. I don't know enough, and doubt most of us do know, about what a 3.0 and umich is equal to and what a 4.0 is equal to (comparitively).

About the latter statement, the original quote I was responding to said:
"id also like to point out that the majority of engineers hired in Ny metropolitan area are not taken from columbia or other schools like it". I don't know much about Columbia's engineering dept. but it should be fairly good. I never wanted to be an enginerring major so I never researched about good engineering schools but I doubt Columbia's would be 'bad'. This was a reply to, again, UB-Vinny77 who has yet to show any evidence of his arguments or atleast courtesy or respect; thus Im not about to believe everything he says and I wanted his sources. Like I said earlier, I'm curious. You may very well be correct but I'm not going to change my mind just by a simple statement by such a member.

I'd appreciate it if my comments aren't looked at out of context, and again, I never meant to bash NYIT but I didn't agree with some statements that were made.

ub vinny 77, what do you have against that sentence? Instead of saying 'wow' it would be best for the both of us if you backed up your sources. I'm not trying to prove you wrong because I don't like you or because I want to mess with you, but simplly becuase I disagree with you. If you have anything with substance that will support your argument go ahead, I'm open to change my mind, or you can continue finding 'mean' remarks or defend yourself against things which I never talked about if you want. knock yourself out
