transferring from OCC to Rutgers New Brunswick

Hello all, I am new to this so hoping I posted in the right place. I am currently a student at ocean county college and was just recently admitted to Rutgers School of Arts and Science. I will only be finishing my first year at OCC at the end of this spring but wanted to transfer to Rutgers after one year. I did apply to Rutgers Business school however I was no admitted, I still need to take calculus. I am planning on being an accounting major at Rutgers so I would hope to transfer to RBS as soon as possible. I have a few questions about what to do and where to go from here. I was curious if anyone could help me with what they did once they were accepted and who they met with to get credit evaluated, I’ve been warned Rutgers can often been very difficult with accepting credit. If anyone has a good idea of what they typically accept that would be much appreciated so I can get a general idea of how much credit I will lose. Ive taken accounting 1 and currently taking accounting 2 at occ along with micro and macroeconomics, principles of marketing, english 1 and 2, college algebra (I’m aware I will get nothing for this class), pre calc 1, (planning on taking pre calc 2) over the summer at occ and possible Calculus in a quick term over the summer but probably not.

Also I came across the “enrollment pathway” that seems like it can be helpful to me but I do not want to sign in and have it automatically enroll for me considering I’m still deciding what I want to do.

Also in intro to statistics this semester- forgot to add that

If you didn’t get in the first time, you probably won’t get in the second time.

I did get into SAS but not RBS

The Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick is difficult to transfer into, even for students enrolled in other Rutgers colleges. And you were already denied once. If a business degree is your ultimate goal - did you try Rutgers Newark? Rutgers Camden? Rowan? I know students who have gone there from RNB after their application to RBS - New Brunswick was denied.

Keep in mind that there are many strong transfer students who complete 2 years at a CC having taken a lot of the more rigorous courses than you and have a strong GPA . I teach at an NJ university and so am familiar with the caliber of many transfer students.

Did you look up your transfer equivalencies at njtransfer.org ?

Yes I tried to plan my classes accordingly through NJ Transfers but one of my counselors at my CC looked over my courses and thought I should be okay with credit transferring however there could be a chance they give me a hard time about certain classes and it’s often a case by case basis with Rutgers. So really I just need to know what classes they take from my CC at SAS.
