hi! so I am not completely happy at my school, UCONN, and while I am trying to make it work(joined a sorority, hall associations, joining more clubs and applying for a bunch of things next semester). I am hoping if I stay a lot of the issues I had this first semester mentally will be better and therefore I will start to like the school more but I think at this point the entire school might just be tainted with bad vibes from me. I am not sure if I could happily spend four years in the middle of nowhere at a school I never imagined myself being at in the first place. If I was to transfer it would have to be to a less competitive business school and I would be paying a lot more than the in-state tuition I am right now. If I stay at UCONN I get a great business program and very little loans. Is it worth it to transfer or should I just suck it up for 3 or 4 more years? I know no one can give me a great answer but I would love some advice since it is difficult for me to talk this out with people
hi there I go to UCONN too and am in the process of applying to transfer!! I am currently a sophomore and have considered transferring many times each for a different reason since the second I committed to uconn as a senior in HS. I also have bad vibes from the school because I’ve suffered a lot mentally so I understand where you’re coming from… Since it is only your first semester you still have a lot of time to both get more acclimated to Uconn OR really commit to transferring. If you do decide to transfer I think you should also keep in the back of your mind that you will be okay with the fact that it might not work out and you could stay at uconn (especially with the fact that there will be little loans and the business school is good!
Also, since we go to the same school I would be more than willing to give you advice or just be there to talk in person!!
