Transferring High Schools Senior Year

Hi guys,

So I'm transferring high schools senior year (moving), and I was wondering how this will affect GPA?
Both my old school and new school (both public) are really good schools but they have a different GPA system.

My old school gave a 5 for AP and Honors if you got an A. But my new school gives a 5 only for AP classes, and 4.5 for Honors (if you get an A).

My GPA in my old school is around a 4.2 right now.

So my question is, will my new high school translate my GPA to their system? Or will my GPA at the new school only start there senior year fresh?

If it were to translate...
In my old school, we didn't have any honors orchestra (i was concertmaster of top orchestra in my school), honors foreign language 1,2,3, and honors business classes which, if were offered at my old school, would help my GPA.
But then, that means my freshman year honors classes that I had A's in would translate from a 5 to a 4.5.

Do you guys know how high schools typically do this?
Because I'm top 10% in my graduating class at my old school and i don't think i would be top 10%, if my GPA were to translate into the new schools system.

btw, both schools are equally good

Thanks :)

You have to ask the administration at the new high school about how they will handle this. Someone is probably in the office every day this summer. Have your parents give them a call.
