Transferring In, Interfaculty Transfer

I am looking to McGill for transfer, but I want to go in undecided. I'm looking toward a Neuroscience (Cognitive/Behavioral) but I still am considering English/History/Math/Whatever, so I don't want to limit myself. Should I apply to the Arts Faculty and then if I do decide to to the Neuroscience track, transfer? Or would that be a bit too difficult? Basically: am I better off just trying to get into the Science Faculty and praying that I like what I do?

If you’re serious about Neuroscience, I wouldn’t recommend trying to transfer.
My roommate is dead serious about Neuroscience, and she says that the faculty is highly selective and only accepts around 20 people per year (I’m not sure how true this is though). Hence, transfering from Arts would be very hard, and not every science student even manages to get in.

You should apply for science, and you can take arts credits to see if you like it or not. Or, you can apply for arts, and take psychology courses (lots of psychology and neuroscience courses overlap) to get a feel for it. Or, you can also apply to the faculty of arts&science (it’s a joint faculty). They have a cognitive science program too. =)
