Transferring into Berkeley?

<p>Currently a student at Binghamton University, 3.95 GPA first semester but not too heavy of a course load. Hoping to repeat that this semester with a more rigorous class schedule. Continuing for the next 3 semesters, as I am looking to transfer after sophomore year. A 3.98 high school gpa, strong EC's. Computer Science major hoping to minor in math or film. Trying to apply to Berkeley L&S for a BA in CS.</p>

<p>Berkeley is extremely selective, would being out of state and taking an easy course load that first semester hurt me? What are my chances of getting in, in your opinion?
Also how is the financial aid there?</p>

<p>Being OOS hurts everyone. Ironically transfering to Berkely has been made easier, but only through the in state community college mandate. If Berkley’s your dream school consider going to CC in Cali. I think OOS with a weak course load will be a tough road. GL.</p>
