How good of an idea is it? Is it even more difficult to transfer into Tepper from another college than it is to get in to Tepper straight from high school? If it is a good idea, then what's the best college in CMU to transfer into Tepper from?
(I'm a high school junior interested in business. I don't understand a lot of how of how this works as I haven't started the application process yet, but I'm under the impression that for a undergraduate business degree you must be in Tepper.. please clear this up for me if I'm wrong).

Answers are really appreciated!!

It would probably be easier to double major into Tepper than transferring in since so few of their students leave after freshman year.

My S is a freshman in SCS and had been told that there were no slots available for non-Tepper students to get into the introductory courses this semester because of demand from business majors. Getting on to the double-major track hasn't been straightforward thus far.

Once you get out of freshman year at CMU scheduling becomes a lot more friendly, especially when you're trying to get into classes outside of your home department.

Sometimes departments will also reserve slots for double majors or students getting a minor, so if your son hasn't gotten on the books as wanting to get one of those two, he should definitely look into it.

When we visited, this same question was asked at one of the sessions. There is no easy way into Tepper but the easiest is being accepted at first.
