Also, I'm closely related to two presidents (one modern and one antebellum), but don't know if that would even be to my advantage to mention.
Plus, I'm working on something with a friend that has to do with hydraulics and alternative energy that we're hoping to get a patent on, but won't before my apps are due.

Thanks!

Or should I just stay at OSU with a full ride?

Why do you want to transfer? And why Cornell or Penn?

Well, I want to get into a top econ program, and they both are very strong in econ. Also, Cornell is my #1 because it also has the Industrial and Labor Relations College that, while I wouldn't be enrolled in it, would be an excellent resource for me, as I wish to return to my hometown and help with the steel mill crisis, either through restructuring, or helping the mills to enter a new line of production of, say, plastics.

i would wait another semester and get that patent, after that your chances are good, or as good as they can be at those schools.

chance me at
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Well the patent is really up in the air. Yes, I'm trying, but getting a patent isn't exactly easy business. Even if the device does work, that doesn't mean I'll get the patent. If I'm going to transfer, I want to get as many of my econ credits as I can from my transfer school. So, if the patent wasn't even in the picture, what would my chances be?

You're hoping being related to presidents will help??? And a would be, could be, maybe patent?

Hint one: make sure the application is genuine, straight forward and not full of irrelevant things.

I would stay at OSU so I wouldn't have to think about paying off debt after school. Or would you rather have thousands of dollars of debt with the same degree?

Well the patent itself really is irrelevant. I just thought even working on something like that, whether or not we successfully get a patent, would show that I'm dedicated to something.
But if you think it's irrelevant, then what do you think my chances are even without considering that in my app?
