I finished 2 semesters at Baruch College and have been accepted to UB and Binghamton for fall 2014. I know this question is asked somewhat frequently, but I hear a lot of contradicting things pertaining to Binghamton's sciences and premed advisor. My major is undecided, but I do want to do a premed track. On the other hand UB has a rather respectable science curriculum and the school itself seems like a lot of fun.

Transferring from a CUNY to a SUNY I don't really mind the differences of social life between the 2 schools considering both are a major steps forward from Baruch. What would one suggest for a premed track (how useful science courses are for mcat, research, student/faculty helpfulness) out of the 2 schools?

This is hugely unhelpful because I just graduated Binghamton as an english/history major, but I did know a lot of pre-med students. It’s a really common path to be on. That said, I do think of Buffalo as being more science oriented.

Thanks for your input @rebeccar How was your experience at Binghamton? I’m starting to lean more towards Bing at the moment.

I can definitely answer general questions about Bing. I looooved it. I had such an amazing time and I’m so sad taht I graduated. I met so many friendly people and really enjoyed all my classes. The campus feels comfortable and welcoming; I really felt at home there. There’s plenty of clubs and events. The surrounding area isn’t super lively, but there’s so many things to do that I rarely felt the need to leave campus.
