Hi,
I’m currently attending a community college. Unfortunately, I have a VERY poor track record. I attribute this to ADD, which has made many aspects of college difficult for me thus far. I’ve just begun working on this issue and hope to improve my grades within the next few semesters or so. I’m very serious/passionate about eventually pursuing an engineering career.
From my research, I’ve come to the conclusion that the engineering programs in most schools have very rigorous admission standards. Impractical as they may seem at this point, I don’t want for my efforts to be for a lost cause. I’m wondering if I should just give up and change my major to one for which admission requirements are a little more lenient.
Has anyone undergone a similar situation? How did things turn out for you? I’m hoping for some words of (realistic) encouragement, as it kills me to consider something else that I have no passion for. However, brutal honestly is welcomed as well.
Thank you!
