Transferring to Davis after being Dismissed from San Diego

<p>Hi everyone, the title pretty much says it all. I attended UCSD my freshman year of college and was dismissed for poor grades after my freshman year. I attempted 52 units and passed 36 of them, my final GPA was a 1.527. This is now my second year at a CCC, I've retaken every class I failed at SD and my GPA is around 3.4. I would really like to attend Davis next fall, I was under the impression that I wouldn't qualify for admission but speaking to a counselor today she told me I have a shot. What do you all think? Will I get into Davis? Also what other schools should I be looking at in Northern California? Thank you so much.</p>

<p>You need to be in good standing with UCSD in order to transfer to another UC.</p>

Its clear from the UCSD website what you have to do if you want to go back to UCSD, not so clear there what to do if you want to go to a different UC. They give contact info on the UCSD page at [UCSD:</a> Readmission](<a href=“Readmission”>Readmission) so I suggest you call them; also call admissions at UC Davis.</p>

<p>BTW I also suggest getting the name of the person you talk to and following up with an email to confirm your understanding of what was said so you have it in writing.</p>

<p>you caught me emprex :wink: I’ll contact SD and see what I have to do in order to get back into good academic standing…I really wanna go to Davis, I’ll keep you all updated. Thanks for the help.</p>

I’m in the same situation as you (different UC, however). I called UC Davis today and they said whatever class you failed at UCSD must be taken at a 4-year university, not a community college.
This is what the admissions counselor told me. She said it’s better not to apply to UCD.
What other UCs and/or CSUs are you applying to?</p>
