I am in my 2nd year of college and am exploring different options to transfer. Gabelli is high on my list, and I am looking for some input/advice. Truthfully, my main concern transferring is the money. It would be hard for me to commute so I would really need to reside on campus. My family is upper-middle class, however I am pretty much on my own for paying for school (ugh). I feel like my parents income is going to make it hard to get aid, but anyways, does Fordham offer decent aid/scholarships to transfer students? I scored a 31 on ACT, 1900 SAT, have a 3.96 GPA at my current college and am in the honors program, treasurer of a club and so on. What are my chances of me being accepted and getting money? Not to sound greedy at all but honestly unless I get ~30k in aid/scholarships a year I won't be able to afford it. I know it probably won't work out but does anyone have any experience with applying as a transfer student…? Thanks, i really appreciate it.

I am not a transfer student but if you are interested in Gabelli you should certainly apply and see what happens. Some things to consider 1) generally schools don’t give much aid to transfer students but the only way to know how that will turn out for sure is to apply and 2) Fordham has a big core curriculum and a couple of people I know who transferred in to Fordham had to go to summer school or spend an extra semester at Fordham to fulfill the core. It may be worth your time to look at your classes to date and see how you stand in terms of Fordham’s core (which can be found online with a quick google search) so you have a sense of what classes you still need. If you get in I would try to meet with an advisor to go over your classes and see where you stand before deciding to transfer. 3) Not all transfer students get housing but again you would have to apply and see what happens. Good luck.
