College GPA:

Great Leadership EC's

Transferring in as a Sophomore

Colleges:
Georgetown SFS
Yale
Harvard
Columbia

I'm looking for a really really good International Relations school.

Your college GPA is impressive, but your high school record seems spotty. What are your SATs? Keep in mind the importance of your HS record as a freshman transfer.

27 ACT, it's pretty low.

The high school GPA is low because of extenuating circumstances freshman year.

anyone else?

Chances are low at the moment. Wait a year and your HS stats will not be scrutinized as much.

being african american helps a LOT, esp. combined with low income. i'd say get that ACT up, wait a year and make your ECs and college grades even better, and then aply

My my college grades even better? =/ I'm afraid a 4.0 is highest.

I thought most of these colleges don't accept ACT's after the graduation of high school.

You give your jr/sr GPA as weighted, is your HS GPA of 3.65 weighted too? Another question will be the number of credits and difficulty of course load your first year of college. Since you're at Oxford/Emory, I assume you aren't taking any upper level classes? How about honors classes?

I don't know what the transfer rate is at Georgetown, but the rest are in the lower single digits, which means that a transfer applicant to them can really afford to have NO weak points in their application. My general advice would be to either wait a year or add some less selective schools to your list.
