Ghanaian American and Georgetown

I know being black has to help out a little, but here are my circumstances, tell me how much it'll help. I did badly in my competitive high school, I got a 3.3 GPA, 31 ACT, scored 4's on 4AP Tests didn't take 3 tests (almost all my senior year classes were AP). So I decided to go to a state college this first year. I really want to go to Georgetown so I have a 3.8, probably will end up with a 3.9. And I'm involved in a lot of stuff. Will my college GPA erase my high school GPA? do I have a shot?

guess that's a no

you probably won't get the best feedback from us, the majority of us are applying as first-years and don't really know anything about what transfer-admissions are like.

for transfer admissions, the high school GPA has less weight than the college GPA. If you're applying for fall 2006, it'll mean even less, and they'll mostly focus on your college GPA. However, if you applied for fall 2005, your high school grades will mean a little more. So, a 3.8-3.9 is amazing for transfer admisisons, so i'd say you'd have a good chance, especially if you apply during sophomore year. Just make sure your reasons for transferring are solid.

alright. I hope you first-years are admitted. Your stats on the thread below are great. i should have done that in h.s., but that's in the past.
