<p>This may be one of those annoying "chance me" threads, but I'd greatly appreciate some feedback from those who has an indication of what the transfer process to a liberal arts college is like. Truth is, I did the transfer thing this past termbut no dice and I felt more like a loser than I had in my life. I have since shrugged it off, but I'm going in for a round 2.</p>
<p>Current institution: Fordham University
HS GPA: 3.2 UW (with 4 AP's) at a top 50 public high school in US
SAT: 1870
College GPA: 3.82
EC: KQED Radio Internship, New America Media Internship, San Francisco Magazine Internship, contributing writer for college paper, copy editing staff of college paper, copy editor for research journal, tutoring volunteer. In high school, I was editor of the opinion section of my school paper, a Pacemaker winner.
When I return to Fordham, I plan to join the environmental club, cultural clubs, and really a petition for recycling bins in our residential hall. (Can you believe they don't recycle PAPER of all things?!)
Hooks: First generation, Chinese American, very low-income. I speak Cantonese and Teochew (an archaic dialect of Chinese-only 2% of china speak it). In addition, I plan to major in English and Creative Writing and minor in Spanish.</p>
<p>Essays: I have a solid transfer essay to the Common App prompt. I know everyone thinks their essays are great, but I am genuinely believe mine is a winner and will hopefully win over the hearts of folks at admissions from these colleges I'm applying to:</p>
