Transferring to McCombs ( UT ) or Mays ( A&M )

Currently I am a student at UTD as a undeclared freshman.

Stats
High school GPA: 4.04 ( 11% )
Current GPA: 4.0
AP credits: 33 ( just for the sake of transferring I will state I have both of my calculus credits, one government credit, and a macroeconomics credit )
Current classes for fall semester: Microeconomics, government, art history, and financial accounting
Winter Semester: Speech at a community college ( A&M requirements )
Spring semester: Biology, managerial accounting, and three other classes

I plan to transfer to either of these schools next fall and major in finance. I was wondering what my chances of being able to to transfer are. I have had multiple meetings with A&M counselors that seem to be supportive of my aspirations. University of Texas has been telling me that is near to impossible, and it almost seems as if they are trying to convince me that I wont be able to do it ( I 'm still going to try though). I truly want to transfer to UT more then A&M, but A&M seems more achievable.
