Transferring to Northwestern from Community College?

I’m a college freshman looking to transfer universities.

I spent my first semester at San Francisco State but really didn’t like it because of how much of a commuter school it was and how difficult it was to make friends (everyone lived nearby and went home on the weekends). I’m taking classes at a local community college now, and am sending applications to a few schools later this month and in March.

I want to pursue a career in Journalism, but Medill seems too exclusive for me to apply into. I figure it’s a better decision to apply as an English major (relatively less competitive), and try to transfer into Medill.

High school GPA: ~3.0
GPA: 3.53
ACT: 28
Extra Curriculars:
-Staffing the world’s largest Model UN conference in New York City (NHSMUN)
-Eagle Scout
-High school newspaper (all 4 years, 3 years as writer/1 year as editor)
-High school Model UN club (all 4 years, invited to conferences in San Francisco and Chicago)
-Assistant Senior Patrol Leader in Boy Scout Troop for ~1 year
-JV Swim for 1 semester junior year (won “Most Improved Swimmer”)
-Worked at Jewish Sunday School as Youth Staff Coordinator during senior year

What are my chances of getting into Northwestern?
