trying to be as clear in my applications about what i have gone through( reflecting on poor high school grades) and where i am in life
going to be put only meaningful activitites/awards
awards: id diploma, president award for excellence, all state tennis team, full tuition at state school, deans list at college, all state academic team:honorable mention
switching major to finance// i have a new found love for investing + business. talk about this in an essay and how investing has changed my life and given me purpose to learn.

There is no such thing as a finance major at NU. You can apply to take 4 or more fundamental courses at the Kellogg School, such as business Econ and operations management, and receive a business certificate. With that, you can apply for finance jobs at all top firms, including those on Wall Street or investment firms in Chicago. Good luck.
If you want to study finance you should see if you can transfer into the b-school at your current university. Northwestern does not have an undergraduate b-school.
Then all you can do is hang in there and see what happens. FWIW per the most recent common data set Northwestern accepted about 16% of transfer applicants.
