<p>First-semester freshmen? I think you mean second-semester freshmen? (I.e. someone who enters one college in the fall and then wants to enter NYU the following spring, still as a freshmen)</p>
<p>To answer your question, no. NYU requires that by the time you transfer into NYU you will be sophomore.</p>
<p>For Spring transfer you apply in November and hear back… at some point. If you harass the admissions office/have a legitimate reason for them to rush your application, you could hear back by Thanksgiving. However, NYU does say it could take as long as early to mid-January to hear back.</p>
<p>For Fall transfer, you apply in March and hear back in April or May. </p>
<p>It’s harder to get into NYU as a transfer than it is as a freshmen.</p>
<p>Just would like to say that I applied for transfer for Spring 2012 and I found received my email acceptance on November 22. Some people found out much later though (like last week I think?), though I have no idea why I found out so quickly.</p>
