Transferring to NYU Questions

Does Gallatin accept first-semester freshman college students?

When do you receive a decision when you apply for Spring semester (due 11/1)?

When do you receive a decision when you apply for Fall (due 4/1)?

Is it harder to apply as a first semester freshman and/or starting sophomore year college student?

Do you also need to do an interview?

First-semester freshmen? I think you mean second-semester freshmen? (I.e. someone who enters one college in the fall and then wants to enter NYU the following spring, still as a freshmen)

To answer your question, no. NYU requires that by the time you transfer into NYU you will be sophomore.

For Spring transfer you apply in November and hear back… at some point. If you harass the admissions office/have a legitimate reason for them to rush your application, you could hear back by Thanksgiving. However, NYU does say it could take as long as early to mid-January to hear back.

For Fall transfer, you apply in March and hear back in April or May.

It’s harder to get into NYU as a transfer than it is as a freshmen.

NYU does not conduct interviews.

Just would like to say that I applied for transfer for Spring 2012 and I found received my email acceptance on November 22. Some people found out much later though (like last week I think?), though I have no idea why I found out so quickly.
