If I were to transfer into NYU in the spring semester my freshman year (via Gallatin), what would the housing situation be? I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find some answers. Would I be housed with other freshman in the freshman only dorms? Would I get another freshman transfer student as a roommate, or someone who has already spent a semester at NYU?

You can't apply for your second semester freshman year to NYU. The earliest you could apply for is the summer/fall.

No, I can apply for transfer into Gallatin as a spring semester freshman. I believe you are thinking of CAS. According to the NYU transfer admission page:

"If you have been in college less than a year, your high school record will be an important consideration for admission. Students who are currently completing the first semester of their freshman year at a college or university are not eligible to apply for spring transfer admission to the College of Arts and Science."

But back to my original questions-- anyone have any answers?

You will probably get a freshman dorm

Has this ever happened to anyone??

why don't u worry about this issue when you get in & if you are too curious that this will jeopardize your chance for admissions, simply CALL housing. No Emails. Good luck!
