Transferring to Ohio State (Winter/Spring of freshman year)?

Im a freshman at John Carroll, with a HS GPA of a 2.95. I want to apply to winter quarter, because I have 14 credits already. And if i don't get accepted I was told I can apply in for the spring where my GPA will be around a 3.0 and have over 30 credit hours, so admissions will not have my high school grades. What are my chances? Does anyone know any info about transferring to OSU, GPA? Thanks!

I know someone who was admitted with a similar GPA. However, if John Carroll is on semesters I would recommend waiting to transfer until sophomore year. Since OSU is on quarters, it would be really complicated and you may have to take a few months off or waste half a semester.
