Transferring to Pomona - Prof. Recs?

I'm applying to transfer to Pomona College for Fall 2010. They require two faculty recommendations, and both say:

"Give this form to a college instructor who has taught you in an academic subject (humanities, social sciences or natural sciences) for at least one term. References from teaching assistants may be used to supplement faculty recommendations, but may not replace them."

One professor that taught a small class I was in will write one, but all of my other classes were very large (115 or more) - I have never spoken personally with the professors. Any ideas of what to do? Would they accept a high school teacher recommendation? Perhaps TA recs are actually OK if there's no other option?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would work hard next semester to get to know professors. (Office hours are your friend).

No, colleges prefer recommendations from professors. If your classes were large, I’m sure you could still ask for a recommendation if you’ve done well in that class. But as college_ruled said, it’s better if you get to know your professors well.
