How prestigious is UCLA?

It's a top-25 university. It's listed in the "CC's Top Universities" category. Isn't it obvious?

"How prestigious is UCLA?"

how clueless are you? People who give prestige top priority are morons.

So, UCLA is the 25th university in the country, correct?
Is that considered to be great?

Do people (such as employers) respect a UCLA degree on resume?

Does going to UCLA help you get into a top graduate school?

which one do you think people will respect the most on the list?

Rokko,

Where are you from? It might help to put your questions into context. Right now, you don't seem to really understand much about the American university system, so I'm curious.

i suggested that experiment just for kicks...
because, depending where you are, you'll get different results.
are you going to base your decision based on some subjective rankings by other people?
what's the point?
there are many great universities in this country. to try to rank them numerically is arbitrary, and those rankings are meant as guidelines.
to use them as a sort of bible is to take them completely out of context.
...the point is to go to a place that will give YOU the education you're looking for :)

I would like to know your opinion sir.

Rokko,

I'm only trying to help. It's important to have your perspective on the matter in order to properly explain things.

Anyway, there isn't a school that will "help get you into a top grad school." Getting into grad school is your responsibility. If you go to Harvard and get a 3.1, you won't stand a chance against a UCLA grad with a 3.7.

Plus, "getting into grad school" is far too vague a question to be answered meaningfully. Getting into law school is a very different task from getting into a PhD program.

UCLA is only ranked 25th on USNews. Plenty of other rankings have it higher. But keep in mind that this is a country with thousands of universities. UCLA is in the top 25. That puts UCLA effectively in the top .01 percentile of universities.

That's pretty good.

rokko...
1. i already stated my opinion, which is why i hope you'll understand why i'm not about to parrot any numbers off to you. there are MANY great schools, and, as uclari said, while the school can help you get into grad school, ultimately it's up to you.
2. i'm a girl
