Transferring to Tisch

Hi this is my first post to College Confidential! I am currently finishing my last year in high school and plan on transferring into the Drama department at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts after a year at a community college. I have read almost everything about the school through their site, forums, etc and have that heart turning feeling that it is where I need to be and want to be. One of my greatest concerns deals with the previous acting experience that I do not have because I never enrolled in drama in school or in community theater. Thankfully tomorrow I will be getting my first car and will be able to attend theater classes in the area and begin working on my resume! It is really exciting because I have always been determined to study and train as an actress, but did not have the transportation to get there other than my Mom. If anyone has transferred into their Drama school or know someone who has will you please tell me:

How critical is the previous acting experience in the admissions process?

What factors helped you to stand out in the admissions process in terms of your resume or previous knowledge about the school, etc.

What to expect in the audition room?

-Do they except community college students?-silly question, I know.

-What classes did you need to take, and how many credits do you need. Do they just want you to be working towards an AA?

Any financial aid programs that you discovered that were a big help. This is the most crucial for me and I have read books that only list a limited amount of scholarships and grants for students out of high school. This can include financial aid for community service, academics, or the arts (drama).

-Lastly your overall experience transferring and any other precautions, surprises, and things to expect would be wonderful.

Thank you in advance for your reply! It truly means a lot coming from a young prospective actor like myself (:
