I am currently a second year second semester at CSULB pre-business accounting and I want to transfer to UCSB economics and accounting. I was wondering if anyone has transferred from a CSU to a UC successfully and what their gpa was.
Also what are my chances of getting in? And where do I go to find the requirements to transfer?
current GPA: 3.93
Microeconomics: A
Financial Accounting: A
Statistics: A
Macroeconomics: currently enrolled
Managerial Accounting: currently enrolled
Business Calculus: currently enrolled
I’d go straight to the source (UCSB) about the courses you need. You can probably use the TAG framework as a rough guide and may find many of the classes in Assist.org but, I’d confirm each class with UCSB prior to registration.
This will give you a good feel for the GPA for your major.
If I’m reading this right you are a sophomore right now. You missed the deadline to apply for your junior year at UCSB; that was back in November.
Going forward there is a potential problem because you’ll likely start taking upper division classes. You can take all the lower division classes you want and be eligible for transfer, but the UCs have a limit on the total number of units you can have and still be eligible to transfer. The total you have is based on a capped number of lower division units plus any upper division units.
