Hey everyone,

I'm considering transferring to the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) from a California community college.

I want to attend their business program.

My current community college statistics:
- 3.85 GPA
- Lead role in a club
- President of another club
- Honors Program
- Run my own business

I'm just trying to get away from California for university, so if you have any recommendations of other universities (with a good business program) that you think I could get into, I'm open to recommendations.

Also, given I'm transferring from CC, would UNC-CH look at my high school grades or not?

Any other information is appreciated!

Whether UNC would consider your high school accomplishments or not depends on whether you are sophomore or junior standing. A good high school gpa would be impressive anyway.
UNC requires you to pay out state student tuition if you are not a NC resident, although it is fairly cheap. UNC is a really descant school. You can have UMN- Carlson for back up. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the response. I’d be applying to enter as a junior.

I checked and out of state for UNC-Chapel Hill is around $33,000 a year…what part of that is cheap!? :P

“Cheap” relative to some other out of state public schools’ non-resident cost of attendance. However, public universities in Minnesota and the Dakotas cost less.

Gotcha. Any idea how much aid UNC-CH gives on average? I mean, how much of the $33,000 tuition would I likely pay?
