I'm applying to Tech for Fall '12 as a studio art major. I have a 3.3. I did a year and a quarter at SCAD, hated it and finished with a 3.3 there. I'm doing spring semester at NOVA, and fully expect all A's there, so it'll boost me a little. Do I have a chance of getting into Tech's studio art major?
I'm coming in with 78 credits, only three of those classes don't carry over to Tech.

Update: I have a 3.6 to show for my one semester at NOVA. I’ll be sending them my midterm grades.

Since you’re trying to be accepted to Studio Art, won’t your portfolio be a much more important factor than grades (as long as they’re within range)?

They don’t even look at a portfolio until after the first semester. Then they decide if they’ll let you into the art program. I’m trying to get admitted directly into studio art because I’ve fulfilled so many requirements and have a pretty fantastic portfolio already. So only my grades matter now. But I can only negotiate that part after I am admitted.
