Transferring to William and Mary/UVA..?

I'm currently a freshman at a pretty big state school and am really hoping to transfer to either UVA or W&M as a Sophomore. I'm planning on taking 18 credit hours next Semester since this Semester was not my best (I got sick and was dealing with some family issues). I'm also taking a few courses over the summer to bring my GPA up. I have really strong EC's and essays. I'm also instate which I'm hoping will help a lot. My highschool GPA wasn't the best though...around a 3.1 I know thats low for William and Mary but if I bring my grades up next semester and do well over the summer, I'm thinking I should be fine.

Does anyone know the transfer statistics for either of those schools? Would it help to do a semester at a community college in Virginia?

do NOT come to w&m if you enjoy being at least moderately social. im hoping to transfer to uva next year

W&M is not for everyone. Neither is UVirginia. Both are very social, but Uvirginia is much larger. People transfer from UVa and Princeton and Duke to W&M as well. Take it for what its worth; one persons opinion. Good luck.
