Transferring w/ less than 30 cred

UMD says you can apply w/ 30 credits without highschool transcript.
I have a 4.0 w/ 24 credits and I want to transfer to UMD in the fall. I have to send in my highschool transcript w/ a 2.9 GPA.
Will they base the decision on my GPA in highschool?

You should check to see if they expect you to have the 30 credits completed or if you can be in the process of taking the credits which get you to 30 while you are applying. If you have to submit your HS transcript, you should not worry about it too much as you have shown that you can deliver good grades at the college level. Those will have more weight than your HS academics.

They expect to have 30 credits completed, I’m worried if I don’t get in and then when I apply again and have 30 credits completed it would affect me because I got denied the first time! But thank you so much

If the only reason they don’t admit you is because of having less than 30 credits completed, then there should be no bias when you apply again. However, if this is a hard and fast rule for the university, then you probably should not apply because they will be forced to not admit you.
