Transferring with or without an AA?

To make things simpler, let me write out a scenario.

Basically my goal is to get from my local CC to another state's CC, then to a 4 year university. The reason for me to go from a CC to another CC is because I lack credits.

Now, I'm wondering if completing my AA at my local CC would ultimately help me with university's admission process? Thing is, I'm more than sure that the university would not accept my AA so would the factor just posessing an AA help with admissions?

You can apply to a four year school now if you'd like. You do not have to complete a minimum number of credits at the community college level before applying for transfer.

Most community colleges have formal agreements with one or more colleges/universities that allow students who have completed a specific series of courses with a specific GPA to be admitted directly into a specific program at the four year college/university. Sometimes this process requires completing an AA/AS. Sometimes it doesn't.

The best people to advise you on how to approach your studies at the community college are the folks at the four year college/university you are interested in transferring to. You should pick up the telephone and call them.

Good luck!

FYI, usually, the admission guarantee admission between cc and universities are in the same states. So the agreement doesn't apply if you're applying to schools in different states.
