I posted a similar question, but there's also more to it!

Right now, I am a 1st year in Montclair State University. I'm also in this 7 year joint pharmacy program with Rutgers, so I'll spend 3 years at MSU and 4 years at Rutgers. But the thing is, I'm kind of worried if I'll be able to get in the School of Pharmacy because 1) MSU doesn't really treat me as a pre-pharm student, 2) MSU doesn't really know much about what I have to do in the program, & 3) it seems like my spot isn't guaranteed, I have to go through an interview my 3rd year.

Would it be worth it if I still stay in the program? Or should I transfer to Rutgers in the Spring semester 2013 into SAS, take the pre pharm prerequisites for 2 years, then transfer to the School of Pharmacy?

Why don’t you try asking someone in the Rutgers Pharmacy school? Explain your problem: I am guessing that since they participate with MSU they should be able to give you some guidance.

Try to ask specific questions and if that person doesn’t know, ask to speak to someone else. Half the battle at Rutgers is getting your question to the right person/someone who cares. Keep trying!

ps I would try to stay in the program at MSU for 1 or 2 years and get those sciences/math out of the way. I am guessing they will be easier to take at MSU vs. Rutgers. Then you will have a better GPA when you are trying to transfer in via MSU vs Rutgers SAS. I went to Ocean County College my freshman year and transferred into Rutgers Pharmacy (many years ago).
