I am not considering the idea of transferring from one boarding school to another, but I have a friend at a bs who wants to. Do people transfer from one boarding school to another often? Are they even likely to get accepted?

bump…

Someone I know transferred from NMH to Andover.

I know of people who have transferred to another bs because of better sports programs.

My older son had a friend who transferred from Exeter to NMH.

I know of two kids who moved from DA to NMH in Junior year. Just was not a good fit, although they were doing well academically.

This is probably off topic. I am curious how the kids toadstool is talking about were not a good fit at DA even they did well acadmically. What were the indications? What did they not like about their experience at DA? I think moving from a school to another in the middle of the games is a big deal. There must’ve been compelling reasons.

I can’t speak for toadstool, but my older son had a friend who transferred in from Exeter. He, and his family, just weren’t comfortable with the school. He was an excellent student and athlete who ended up going to Brown. He had a sister who ended up choosing NMH over Exeter as well. They just like the atmosphere at NMH.
