azndrummer09, I went to VCU last year!

I thought transfer students had to wait until late April for decisions. Good luck to those waiting answers.

Really, they will probably get send them out once they have reviewed them all. The multiple calls i made said mid April.

D received transfer acceptance today. We live in-state.

NYTOVA, where do you live in Virginia? I’ve called JMU and they said they aren’t sending letters till mid april, which to be honest didn’t make sense to me. Also, what were your stats. Me and my friend both go to NVCC and applied to the business school. I have a 3.66 and he has a 3.0, does anyone think we have a chance?

3 questions:
What is guaranteed admission?
Is it easier as a sophomore first semseter or freshman second semester to transfer?
If one got denied admission as a frehsman what are chances of acceptance as a transfer?
Thanks!

theatermamastia, the gaa is this:

if u get us AA or AS and meet the terms above you will get in no matter what.

NYTOVA:
where do you live!!! also did the decision come in the mail?

Nothing here yet I’m IS too.

Maybe they are sending replies out as they recieved them?
brishe when did u submit?

Brishe: Did you attend VCU for a year and went back to NVCC? That’s what I’m looking to do if I don’t get into JMU for my sophomore year.

I’m not quite sure when I’ll get mine, I originally applied for Summer 2010 @ JMU, but they declined me from that and moved me into fall 2010. Doesn’t matter though, heard current students have to apply for Summer/Maymester also, so the app process for that is tough

D submitted her application 2/24 and her acceptance letter was dated today, April 2. Our mail person is generally slow in getting materials delivered so I am surprised at getting it today. Just wanted you all to know that at least some letters have been released trying to qualm anxiety not create more. Relax the decision is out of your hands at this point your decisions are coming!

got my transfer decision today! Its dated April 2nd, and i live in Northern Va. I submitted my application in late Jan.

evm2556 - thanks!
could you please explain gaa, AA and AS? Also, thanks for the info on transferring, but we are OOS.

AA Associates degree Arts
AS Associates degree Science

The guaranteed admissions if for Virginia Community College system…graduate from one and finish your final two years at a public Virginia university. Pretty fantastic deal as Virginia has some of the greatest public schools in the country!!!

evm2556, what did your letter say? Was there a lot of applications this year?

hey what did your daughters letter say, was there a lot of applications received this year?

It didn’t really say much about how many applicants there were. Just the letter, a one book, and health form to be filled out.

I just got my transfer admissions decision today too. I got accepted! I’m in-state from northern virginia.

congrats avabumpin!
do you think they’re sending out all their admissions now? i know VT sends them out at varying times (grr!) but im not sure about JMU. is there a chance we still have to wait another week or so for another round of letters to be sent?

That’s what I’m thinkin hopeful…better yet, that’s what I’m prayin for since I havent received anything yet.
