Hey I have noticed some transfer students for JMU have already received notification. I haven't, and was wondering if anybody knows what this means? Or do admission decisions come out on a rolling basis, because I did apply very close to the deadline. However it does say my application is completed and all my materials have been received. Any information would be greatly appreciated! I'm getting pretty anxious.

Admissions for transfer to JMU is done on a rolling basis. I was really surprised to receive my acceptance so early (about two weeks ago) so I called to make sure it was legit. Admissions confirmed rolling.

Oh, wow thank you for that information! And if you don't mind, when did you apply?

NP. I submitted my app on Jan.29

I'm extremely anxious on getting my decision back...

I submitted mine close to the deadline, anyone know if it would effect my chances anyway? As opposed to the early submits?

i dont think it will effect your chances, but im not sure. i applied for transfer first week of feb. and still have not heard back. i am thinking this could be a bad thing if others have already heard? anyone know some more info to help me out?

I turned my application in on the 15th and heard back in a couple of weeks. If you haven't heard back, what school do you go to and what is your GPA?

i go to odu. i am a freshman there and got a 3.86 my fall semester. i am worried that if others have heard already, that means i might be getting denied.

i submitted my application at the end of november for fall transfer from michigan state and they notified me that they got everything on january 9th. i still havent heard back. i'm guessing this is a bad thing?

i dont know if its a bad thing or not?? i am thinking the same thing as you, but then again i have no idea how the whole thransfer thing works.

According to the JMU transfer website, they will notify you in Mid-April, so I wouldn't worry too much about not getting a decision back.

College Board says the decisions will be done on April 15.

yes i did see that. im just worried that people have heard back before that date and were accepted. i am just worried about a denial being sent next. i guess i will just have to wait and see.

hey just to let everybody know, one of my friend's already heard back about a week or two ago and she was denied. So I don't think all the decisions being let out now are acceptance ones and that they are saving the denied decisions until later. But yea at latest, we only have about 9 days until we know for sure. But hopefully we will hear sooner!

thanks for the info and sorry about your friend. and you are right about 9 days to wait and see at the latest.

Received word back from an admission counselor, and she said they are in the process of mailing out decisions today, meaning we should be getting our decision letters sometime this week. Good luck everybody.

thanks for the info college_hopefull. Good luck to you and everyone else!!

Hi all,

my sister and I both received our acceptance letters in the mail today. We reside in Northern VA, and our acceptance letters have "April 8, 2009" printed up top; I'm impressed that USPS was able to deliver in one day! :) We are ecstatic about the news, and are certainly looking forward to Fall 2009. Good luck to everyone that's still waiting to hear back! :D

RedS0x28 congratulations! Two acceptances in the family must have been a wonderful feeling. I also live in Northern Virginia and still have not heard back, but hopefully tomorrow I will. Thanks for the news.

Awesome!

Thanks for the heads-up that decisions were arriving for NoVa folk. I'm in Vienna and I just got mine today too.

Now to wait for May 1st...

jaybird201 you must be waiting to hear back from UVA (McIntire). What is your GPA and how many credits have you taken? Also are you from a community college?
