Transfers

Does anyone know when transfer applicants are supposed to hear? I believe the last transfer audition is April 7?

If you applied as a transfer student and you get word, please say so :)

We got an email today. Daughter auditioned in March.

My D also auditioned in March (as a transfer)- March 3- and she has not heard yet…

Auditioned mid feb and have not heard anything either. Has anyone been checking the Albert portal? My “check list” is complete except for my artistic review info. No idea what that means but thought it seemed odd

I auditioned in March and haven’t heard anything. My check list says the same thing. Everything is complete except the artistic review. My mom called admissions, and they said that it didn’t mean anything. It just hadn’t been updated yet.

Got an unsolicited email on Monday saying I would be getting my admissions decision “soon.” Any one else?

csheakay- did you hear? I called admissions yesterday and they said 1st week of May.

Nothing yet… I called yesterday too and they told me the same. Next week could not come sooner!

Has anyone who applied as a transfer received a decision from NYU?

Nothing on my end. I’m not sure if it matters but I’m in CA.

Can anyone explain how the transfer admissions process works at Tisch? It is all so confusing… conflicting info everywhere. Is it on a rolling basis? Are RD applicants given priority?

My D1, who auditioned in March (March 3, I believe) still has not heard either. From what I know, prior to this year, the transfer candidates could audition either on a RD date or a transfer date. This year, they changed that so that transfers had to audition on transfer dates. That meant that the first weekend in March was the earliest-- even if you had applied as soon as the app came out. I don’t know what happens with the unifies as she didn’t do that. They said she would find out end of April or early May- but nothing yet. I don’t know whether they are waiting to see what happens with their wait list??? or whether that is irrelevant. It does not seem to be rolling but some people get a “no” earlier I think. Please note that my D is transferring from a non-MT program so she believes she would have to go 4 years-- so it is as though she is a first year, but you are technically a transfer.

thanks for replying, showgirlsmama. That’s interesting because I did a walk in on Feb 20th at the San Francisco regionals. I guess they must be more flexible when it comes to walk ins because I auditioned on an MT/Tech Regular Decision day, and I applied for actor training. but since you say your d hasn’t heard either I don’t think that the location or time at which i auditioned has much to do with the fact that I haven’t heard yet, other than that i’m also a transfer. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. :)

My D auditioned in March and received her acceptance yesterday! We called last week and they said they would be notifying transfers throughout the month of May and until June 1st. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

Congrats dknync! just got my acceptance yesterday morning as well!

@dknync, also, did they give your d her studio assignment? i wonder when we’ll be getting those

Congratulations csheakay! Spoke with NYU and they said studio assignments should go out today or tomorrow. Let us know if/when you get your assignment.

I was accepted as well! On Albert it says I am an Undergraduate BFA Theater major, but I thought Tisch only did BFA Acting. Also, I called Monday and they said early this week, but I haven’t received anything yet.

Just got my studio placement. Any other Meisner’s on here? :)

Strasberg over here!
