I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get back and forth to Rochester to visit my gf next year while I'm car-less at Cornell. Does anyone know the most cost-effective way to get from Ithaca to Rochester? I saw Adirondack Trailways supposedely has a busline but when I tried to pull that up online it said Ithaca wasn't an origin location. Also, if I were to catch the train in Syracuse, what's the best way to get to Syracuse from Ithaca? Thanks in advance!

Weird… I’m in a similar situation. There’s a greyhound bus that runs from Ithaca to Rochester for about 45 dollars. It’s a very easy trip and once you’re in Rochester you can actually take the UR shuttle from the Eastman school of music to the river campus for free (the greyhound station is a few blocks from Eastman). Good luck!

there are TONS of venues on campus if you put out flyers or something. many people go west from ithaca and rochester is a short ride on the I-90. for the reasonably small price for shared gasoline, you’ll find someone who’s driving west and will drop you off to your destination in less than an hour-1.5 hours. tons of people head to buffalo, toronto, ohio, etc. and i guarantee you could find someone with a car willing to pool.

if this isn’t an option, obviously the greyhound is another option.

HaroldlovesMaude- AWESOME SN, that is such a great movie! I just saw it two weeks ago. Is it $45 each way? That’s really expensive if it’s not round trip. She’s actually at RIT but she could pick me up at Eastman if that’s where it goes

BlueDevil- Is it really that simple? You put up flyers saying you need to carpool and ppl call you? That would be great. Sharing gas money is a lot cheaper than a bus

Thanks for the help guys!
