transportation

i herd ppl bring bikes to get around and about bike seats getting stolen... do u guys think having a bike on campus is a good method of transportation? or can u do fine w/o 1?

No clue on bikes. Does anyone know how students get from State College to any of the BIG airports-DC/Baltimore/philly to fly out to home on the holidays? Are there buses from PSU to the airports for out of state kids?
Flying in and out of State College is a fortune.

Is there a bus from State College to NYC?

Here is transportation page from PSU site:

The campus is big but you get used to the walk. People do have bikes but I think it is one more thing to keep track of. Also it is nice to walk through the HUB on your way across campus, pick up the paper, grab some lunch.
There is a campus shuttle too.
I do not know if the buses go to the airport, the web site mentions using a taxi, which I know there is but it is pricey too.
There is a bus terminal on Atherton (west side of campus) for Greyhound and I know they have service to Pittsburgh and Philiadelphia so I would imagine there is one to NYC as well. Do not know if it is direct which makes a big difference. (The three hour trip to Pittsburgh used to take 6 hours on the bus.)
Your best bet would likely be to get a ride home with another student.
