Does Vanderbilt offer reimbursement for travel costs? I know other schools do, I'm wondering if Vandy does as well?

To clarify, I mean for visiting the school as an admitted student.

Not that I know of! but if you have unusual needs for more information, I would suggest you email and politely state you can’t afford to visit, and ask for help with a 15 minute connection for a Skype with a student who has experience in an area you wish to hear more about. if you go to youtube, you can find lots of random videos about Vandy, ditto on insidevandy.com. Admitted student day attendance is a luxury. Have you joined your admitted class FB page? Lots of ways to get info. good luck.

Aside from flying Southwest Air into Nashville airport, if you would really like to visit Vandy but are on a tight budget, one big way to save money would be to look into staying at the Scarritt-Bennet Center about 2 blocks from campus for $50 per night instead of the usual $139+ at the Hampton Inn near campus. Google “scarritt bennett” for more info but briefly, it is a former college campus now used by the Methodist Church for seminars, retreats, they give a discounted rate for people with a family member who is a patient at VU hospital…The accommodations are former dormitories but they are nice, in a safe area and very convenient to Vandy.

Requesting reimbursement has for some reason become the thing to do. I think a lot of advisors are telling their clients to ask for reimbursement. According to the admissions list-serve to which I am subscribed, very, very few schools offer reimbursement.
