The light interior sound nice. Reminds me that I do have a backpack/travel tip. My cellphone charger goes in a small clear zipped cosmetic bag (which also holds my phone if not in my pocket on the plane) - makes it easy to find. My laptop charger goes in a bright red newspaper bag at the bottom of the backpack, easy to find and keeps it from tangling with things.
Is this backpack becoming the new ‘egg cooker thingy’?
Colorado_mom - that’s my understanding! I have carried a larger and more bulky backpack many, many times on Frontier and fit it under my seat.
Ok, moved my stuff from “smaller” backpack to “larger” one. We found it fits MUCH better on the handle of my suitcase. It also has pockets in the front zippered compartment. It really seems nearly the same size and fits about the same amount of my gear so we are probably going with the one advertised to fit the 17” laptop because it’s a better trolley “sleeve” to go over my luggage handle. The one advertised for the 15.6” laptop was simply too tight of a fit over the handle of the suitcase.
I’ve decided from now on, I will pack a light small backpack that we can remove when we get in the plane, for the items I will be using during the flight. The light, small featherweight backpack easily fits inside all my larger backpacks.
H likes to put my roller carry on and the larger backpack in overhead bin and out of the way.
Ok y’all. I ordered this backpack thing in blush. Decided that the flowery one was a bit much, and the black one was a bit too serious.
I don’t remember seeing different colors!
Color is called Dusty Pink, I think.
I think the large/17” size now only available in black(?)
Yes, the large one is only available in black. I am going to use mine as a work bag so 15”
should be plenty for my Surface and the other crap. I have a wheeled bag currently but it is clunky and not very roomy.
I am ok with black—it hides dirt pretty well. haha!
Let us know the true color when you receive! If it’s more pink or more blush!
Fun! I’ll be curious too, how the color looks once it arrives!!
You know you all are going to make me buy one!
A few notes on the backpack: The color options seem to change over time; currently there aren’t nearly as many choices. The 15" fits easily over my suitcase handle, but the handle isn’t super wide. I was at the pharmacy/grocery and the pharmacist commented on how much fit into my bag- quite a few groceries, my Rx’s, along with my wallet, etc. It started raining while I was shopping, so I held it over my head as I walked out and the contents stayed completely dry. I am clearly a big fan haha.
I purchased the 15inch one. As I said, I packed for 2 days in it plus my iPad and kindle no problem. Lighter clothes, not winter clothes. :).
I will say if my intent was to just use it for work or daily “tote” purposes that 15” if fine. But if I intended to use it more for short travel events then I’d just get the 17’ - won’t be that much bigger - at all -but the ability to add an extra shirt or two or sweater would be a bonus.
For our briggs & riley suitcase, coaxing the strap on the 15” bag as just too fraught so we like the easier time we have of pulling the 17” one over the handle—can be done with ease with a bit extra strap to spare. This is much better for our ease of travel as we intend to primarily use it for travel.
Well, the new backpack has caused me to re-evaluate the way I pack my rx and re-pack them so they don’t take up so much space. I have my regular rx plus special extra ones for travel. They all took up too much space, especially with traveling with a spare toothbrush, spare toothpaste, etc. We also decided no need to bring cough medicine with codeine for domestic trips—only international (and only very rarely ever needed).
Now that I’ve reorganized to pack more compactly, the bag has tons of space!
My dusty lilac bag was delivered today. Wow, that was fast. It is more lilac than pink. I like the color! There is a usb charger thingy on the side that I will have to figure out. It looks perfect as a work bag.
I ordered the black, since I wanted the larger size for travel (sometimes piggyback on the roller bag). There were so many FB memes saying that on Mother’s Day you can order anything. I do feel bad though since hubby did already buy me lovely roses and card.
Any suggestions for packing cubes? Had a nice visit today from daughter, with a lot of travels coming up. She asked about packing cubes. I’ve thought about getting some for her but not sure which ones since we bought ours at a travel store that is now closed. She won’t need many since she’d doing the Frontier / personal bag only.
We have the original Eagle Creek ones. There are many other brands available on Amazon. IMO, just get the sizes you need. They all will be fine.
