Chantelle Soft Stetch undies are great for traveling.
I have three pair of travel underwear that dry quickly. (LOL - they are also backup underwear if I run low at home.) I use Travelon Laundry soap sheets for sink cleaning.
When trying to thin down my outerwear last month I almost got rid of bright pink fleece vest. I think maybe it was a gift once(?). But then I realized 1) it fit OK. 2) the Columbia brand usually is good stuff 3) IT HAS ZIPPED POCKETS. I also have a vest for running with nice zippockets. (And a black fleece vest. And a grey print fleece vest i really like. Sometimes I am a fail at Bag a Week declutter.)
I have wool tank tops & wool base layers. I wear them under the Exofficio blouses. They are easy care and warm.
In Europe many hotels have towel warmer in the bathroom, it’s great for drying clothes.
This is the vest I have: https://www.rei.com/product/154074/patagonia-better-sweater-fleece-vest-womens
This is the vest I just bought for this trip and it’s still on sale!
Excellent price if you can fit in a size S! (Unfortunately for me I need an XL).
I don’t wear my vest as tight fitting as the Patagonia model does on the REI website. I could’ve squeezed into an L but didn’t want it so snug.
I have a couple, but decided I really dislike synthetic undies.
Am I the only one that does not like vests? I just really like something to cover my shoulders and arms. Also don’t like tanks or sleeveless shirts in the summer. I am not vain about my arms they just get chilly.
I like fleece vests but would always take a neutral color. Any color splash I do when traveling is with a wrap or scarf.
When I pack for travel, I choose a color palette to use. On a recent trip, it was blues and light lavender colors. Everything mixed and matched…and that included a very light weight down crusher jacket I took with me.
Personally, I don’t like like fleece at all. It is not wind-proof so requires a layer of wind-stopping fabric. If I have to wear a vest, I might as well wear a very thin, down filled one from Lululemon.
If take a vest on our late Sept trip (Rhine river cruise), it will be in addition to a fleece jacket. Both could be worn under my windbreaker (and in a very cold spell, both).
I love a vest. The lululemon ones are my favorites. Light and the perfect length.
I’m usually an athleta activewear person but lulu can’t be beat for a basic vest.
On the packing topic… procrastination humor (and zero helpful hint)
Here’s how you actually should pack…in the last minute or so she is wearing a light weight black and white dress and white tennis shoes. Doing great!
That’s the “uniform”. Good for whatever you want to do. Look for a dress with pockets and easy care fabric that you can throw in the sink and instantly dry.
Bring a pair of black sandals to “dress it up” for dinner. Add some costume jewelry. Maybe a shawl or scarf for color. Zero bag space.
A lightweight jacket or sweater if it gets cool.
Now add a pair of travel pants and a top that use those same colors.
Good to go!
Find a good travel purse. One that holds the phone, documents, travel brochure crap, etc. Supplement with foldable “shopping bag” to stick in it.
Add a bunch of money and make sure you have your passport and credit cards in order.
This is my holy grail travel purse. I especially like the pockets on the side. For water bottles or small umbrellas.
Not too big, not too small. Perfect

I often travel without a purse, just a neck wallet (which sometimes is hooked on my bra and in pocket)…. if international, passport pouch too. On the plane have a backpack personal item, including ipad and a set of clothes. At the destination we usually share a small backpack with jackets, water bottle etc… take turns carrying it. In high crime cities it acts as the “decoy bag”, with values kept on person.
My travel purse is a Travelon bag. Mine is a bit larger i think. I need to make some actual measurements. I’ve loved it forever. I’ve been able to stuff a shawl or fold up jacket in it which is great. So versatile. Sometimes I have wished for a slightly less volume profile. This looks close!
I will point out that my travel purse is not what I use on a daily basis. When I travel I want all the “bells and whistles” of extra locks, extra pockets, extra space. It’s not a fashion statement because I don’t need that nor live in the environment requiring some extra security.
But finding that “perfect” purse is a great goal!
I have both of these.

But the first one, the backpack, has been on every flight I’ve taken since I’ve owned it. Depending on the type of travel it comes with me on day trips or I use a smaller purse.
I REALLY love that backpack. Saved it to my wishlist!
