I'm having such trouble here...

I know Oberlin is higher in rank, but I don't think I can handle the isolation of Ohio, and I loved the campus and people at Trinity. At the same time I need a real challange and I'm not sure if Trinity is that intense academically....any advice?

Wow. Trinity vs. Oberlin is apples and oranges. These are two very different schools, peopled by very different student bodies. Have you visited these schools?

Toss rankings out the window. Consider fit. These are both wonderful schools, but they are dramatically different.

i agree, they are totally different. oberlin is hippyish, trinity is preppy. i wouldnt say the academics at oberlin are any more rigorous than at trinity. being in the nescac with schools such as the williams, wesleyan, amherst and bowdoin keeps trinity working hard to sustain their academic reputation. i would go trinity, unless you are truly looking for a hippyish, LIBERAL (emphasis on liberal) arts school with a lot of individualistic thinking and pot. haha. dont let trinity's semi-party reputation distort your view of their academics, which ive heard are challenging.

i actually agree with ^^^
ignore rankings. they are such different schools, that if you get a certain 'vibe' from one, then thats where you should be.
both will provide you with a superb education
