I know Oberlin is higher in rank, but I don't think I can handle the isolation of Ohio, and I loved the campus and people at Trinity. At the same time I need a real challange and I'm not sure if Trinity is that intense academically, while I know Oberlin is. Also I really want to have a balance between my social life and school work, I don't know if I can get that at either school....any advice?

These schools have rather different environments, and from what I hear, student bodies as well.

I highly suggest you go to the CC Trinity College sub-forum and read the past posts there; change the click box at the bottom to be "from the beginning".

Trinity College has apparently a strong dance program, and an urban location, which were two of D2's highest-importance criteria. Despite these strong points in its favor, after she received input concerning the school and its surrounding area, from these CC posts and other sources, it wound up deleted from her application list. But read the posts yourself and come to your own conclusions.

A very good friend went to Trinity and I've spent much time there. (I'm also an Oberlin grad.) Trinity's faculty is great and you can get a top-notch education there. But Trinity and Oberlin are worlds apart in terms of the disposition of the student body. Trinity tends to be quite conservative (George Will is an alum, for example). Oberlin tends to be progressive and liberal. I doubt the schools have many cross-applicants, so you're a rare bird. If you visit both campuses it should become clear where you better fit in.
