Trinity vs.Yosemite?

I wanted to know how these two dorms compare, I haven’t found much info about Trinity. I’m a very social person and that is one of the key things I am looking for in a dorm. I know Yosemite has a common area per floor where people socialize and stuff. does trinity have this? Also how is trinity with the parties? is there parties in trinity? how is it compared to Yosemite? do people from other dorms go to Yosemite parties or is it like just people who live in the towers?
Any info will be helpful thanks

I didnt’ live in trinity (or any of the redbricks), but here’s my insight on the two dorming options:

You will have no problem finding other social people in the towers (Yosemite/Seirra Madre). Trinity is a red brick meaning there is only one common area on the first floor, but there are tables, a TV, Pool table, kitchen and a quiet study room. The floors each have two wings, one for males, and one for females.

The redbricks in general aren’t very good for parties because of the small rooms and RAs can probably hear the parties clearly in the small hallways. The towers on the other hand have lots of parties because they are off campus. You can often see a stream of students walking towards the towers on friday nights for parties, including many people from the redbricks.

Trinity:
More social at day, small rooms, shared public bathroom with floor, more academic

Towers:
More social at night, bigger rooms, bathroom is shared with fewer people, lots of partying

@r77r77‌ thanks for the response
After reading that I’m kinda leaning toward Yosemite. I’m just kinda worried about how often there is loud parties. I’m definitely happy that there is plenty
But I’m worried of how often they happen and how loud they are. Like if I have to wake up early the next day or something. Do they ever become annoying because they are too loud or something ?
Thanks

It’s college, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are parties often, like twice a week probably. I don’t know much about the noise levels in Yosemite, but the concrete walls would help with noise reduction. You would probably have to get used to the loud party-goers.

@jsuarez97 - I just posted on another thread. Might be of interest to you. <a href=“Housing- Apartments or Dorms? - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - College Confidential Forums”>Housing- Apartments or Dorms? - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - College Confidential Forums;

Additionally, according to my freshman CP daughter, weekends (starting Thursday night) are the noisiest. She has not had a problem studying…she used the library or study rooms during mid-terms and finals.

I am currently living in Yosemite and it’s the best experience of my entire life. Because each tower is only 60-70 people, you become incredibly close with everyone. My tower is one big giant family. It’s a myth that yosemite has “parties”. There are RA’s so its usually people drinking and doing what needs to be done in their room then coming out into the common rooms and doing drunk stupid stuff together with best friends since everyone is so close. Its the best environment because you form quality friendships. Sometimes it gets loud but if you need to study or sleep there is always a way and its like telling your siblings to shut up. Anyone in the redbricks who comes to my tower prefers it. Yosemite is also better than sierra madre because sierra madre is way too big and really has more like 6 common rooms per tower which gets in the way of the whole “family vibe”. Anyway, pick yosemite. I will cry when its time for me to move out and for your class to take over my tower.

@polydreamer‌ I have decide for Yosemite :)
I was accepted early so I’ll get to apply starting Jan 16. If I apply early does that mean I’m likely to get the 1st floor? Do they fill the towers like from bottom to top? I really wanna get the third floor or second at least… Thank you
