Does anyone live there right now or has lived there? How was the experience there? And
If I were to attend UCSB next year (Fall 2011), when would be the best time to apply for housing there? Or does anyone know the earliest someone can apply there? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

some things about tropicana gardens:
one dining hall open until 8pm… can go in and out whenever
strict on quiet hours
a lot of athletes live there along with sbcc kids
fairly close to campus
pretty much like a dorm as far as social scene

idk about applying, sorry… check their website?

DO NOT LIVE AT TROPICANA GARDENS. This was the worst experience. They are very expensive and will fine you for everything! I think their management and RA’s are on a bonus plan and look to fine the students at any chance they get. I was very disappointed in this living situation. They are not nice to the kids and constantly threaten them with fines and eviction. There are so many places to live in the area that you are better off finding an apartment. Living at Trop is very stressful. It is like a prison compound

Highly recommend against Trop and suggest you go into the Residence Halls, especially as a first year.
