Trouble with application

My son is having trouble with uploading his essay to the application. Everything else is complete except for that. Yeah I know we are late with this. Long story. We can’t get an audition without the app first. Can anyone help? I have emailed but it looks like school doesn’t start back until the week of 1/19 for them.

I seem to recall my S having some problem with his MSU essay as well, but I think he just kept trying until it “took”. What’s happening when your son tries to upload it?

Actually, redscorpion6, have you tried contacting Montclair? We received an email on 1/6 from the Dept. of Theatre & Dance Admissions Coordinator about an audition slot change we requested, so it looks like someone is there in the office now even if school is closed.

I only contacted general admissions. I will have him try to upload it again. If not I will contact Theatre Admissions. Thanks maMTma.

Do you have more than one computer in your house? D had the same problem uploading supplemental essay for a Wagner Application. She kept typing it into the common app form and it kept disappearing or refusing to load. Tried it on a different computer and it went through on the first try. These applications can be persnickety!

I agree with Cellomom…we had an issue (not with Montclair-a different school). Instead of uploading it while in windows explorer, we exited that browser and used chrome to access the application and then it worked. I am not tech savvy enough to understand the reason why it was successful that way…but it worked!

We too had the same problem with a different school (not Montclair State) and had to download a different browser, then it went through fine. Also, call the administrator of the department and explain the situation and they probably will reserve you an audition date right over the phone. Don’t call general admissions.

we had a terrible problem with the application last year. There was a problem with the log on. I ended up calling and calling until i finally got someone who could help me. It was such a waste of time. I think I finally got someone from the office of admission. I told them that i was not going to stop calling until we got it fixed. I couldn’t believe how much trouble we had with the application. We did eventually fix the problem but it took lots of stamina.
