For some reason, I’m unable to view my award. I submitted all the documents so I don’t see why. Is anyone else having the same problem?

On USConnect under the financial aid section, a new box showed up today called “View your award” or something along those lines, and the info was part of that section. It listed the trustee scholarship along with a loan the financial aid office offered. Hope that helps!

thanks maddenmd. do you know when those smaller scholarships will be given out?

@clf2154 I clicked on the box and instead of showing my award, it came up with this:
"Thank you for visiting the USC Financial Aid Office. Your financial aid information is currently unavailable because your award has not yet been determined. Graduate students should receive their Financial Aid Summaries starting May 1 and continuing throughout the summer. Continuing undergraduate students will begin receiving their Financial Aid Summaries in June. Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns, or need to speak with a financial aid counselor, please visit [USC Financial Aid](USC Financial Aid) or contact us at <a href="http://www.usc.edu/contactfao.“>www.usc.edu/contactfao.”

Unlike meepily7, I did apply for financial aid. Am I really the only one who got this? D: Should I call them to see if there is a problem?

Interviewed for Trustee, received the letter for the Mork today in WA. Incredibly, incredibly grateful!

Sons say the same think as Kokoro

Congratulations on these wonderful scholarships.

Not all scholarships have been awarded. I think we have not heard from the students who interviewed for Town & Gown, Topping, Associates and some others. Also, some of the schools do give out small merit awards, depending on the school.

I know an individual who donated two partial scholarships to students in one of SC’s art schools. The school does the selecting which is what the donor wished. Neither of the students have been informed as of today.

USC’s financial aid award page is down right now, so I can’t view it and see what scholarship I got… This is so stressful! Hopefully it’ll be worth it.

Am I required to submit all financial aid documents (CSS, FAFSA, etc.) in order to receive my merit scholarship? Or will I just be ineligible for any need-based aid on top of the merit scholarship?

Interviewed for, and received, the Presidential scholarship. A bit disappointed, since I was hoping to get bumped up since I would receive the Presidential scholarship anyway (National Merit), and that would be (most likely) the only way I could go to USC, which is my first choice…

O well. I guess that’s life. Congrats to everyone else who got their scholarships! (:

31425 - I’m pretty sure you’ll just be ineligible for any need-based aid. Merit-based awards are different.

That new additional box that appeared recently “view your award” or something like that, does that appear for ALL accepted students or just ones who will be receiving an award/scholarship, etc.? S didn’t apply for any need based aid. He has that box but when I click on it it states that information is still unavailable because award hasn’t yet been determined…

Interviewed for Trustees & got Director’s ($4000) in the mail. Wow. So unless anyone received literally nothing, you’re still in pretty good shape compared to me! I thought twice about posting this, but then I decided I might as well do a public service and “set the low point” so to speak. Congrats to everyone else tho!

I am sorry to hear of your disappointment. Although not exactly the same, we are disappointed here as well. Daughter got the Presidential but no other gift aid. EFC is 36K per year. I just don’t see how I can do that. From my calculations it will be over $1000 month for the next 20 years.

She got an email saying her financial aid award was updated. Is that THE email - is the award complete?

There is a terrible mood in our home at the moment. She is out of town at a state competition - where she placed and will go to nationals - I hate to burst her bubble but I just cannot see taking on over $100,000 of debt, especially with medical school afterwards.

Sorry for all of us hurting out there today, whether it be from reduced awards, rejections, or the plain old inability to afford it.

son bumped up to trustee from presidential! what a surprise! now have to choose between usc trustee vs brown vs cornell vs georgetown for pre-med

I interviewed for Presidential, and received the Directors ($4k) today.

After reading all the well rounded interviews everyone had, I feel completely ripped off. Wasn’t asked any real questions, just “what I’ve been doing”…and if I had any questions for them. No current events, nothing about USC. It was for Cinematic Arts. My interviewer was grouchy and short, and clearly wanted to get the thing over with. Very brief interview.

I talked about my current video game business which I created myself and use to help support my family, and the interviewer was almost angry at me for having something outside of school, asking questions such as “how would you possibly handle school with your own business?”…even though I clearly explained that I only spend about 2 hours a day on said business (being an internet business, I can work on it at 3AM or 3PM).

I am extremely disappointed by the fact that, 1) I wasn’t given a proper interview, and 2) I was made to feel bad for creating something on my own, that was directly related to the field I was applying to (shouldn’t that be the happy/good part of the interview…the part that is beneficial for scholarship consideration?).

Very very disappointed in the whole process, and my single-question little interview :/

I understand how you feel freshprince. I got bumped down as well in SCA. I was only asked one real question and then the rest of the time was “any questions for us?” I was also really upset that they didn’t ask me anything about my portfolio as well. I did not feel like my interviewers had read my application and the only thing they could say was that I was academically prepared for USC. I honestly really liked my time there and the people I met and I can honestly say that the only thing I did not enjoy while I was there was my interview. I’m happy I got in but I can’t help but feel a little disappointed. I was excited about the interview because I thought it was a chance for them to get to know me and my work but I felt it ended up more like a lecture on the program. And then my interviewer said “You’re coming right?” and I answered honestly that I wanted to here back from the other schools I applied to but I really loved the program. She did not look very happy with my answer. Looking back it was probably a mistake but I tried to be honest. You win some you lose some I guess.

So don’t worry freshprince! You’re not alone Good luck with that business though. Sounds awesome.
