Trustee/Presidential Scholarship Notification

Does anyone know when we they mail decisions? From past years its seems finalists received the decisions the monday of the last week in march. Could it be the same this year? I know the last Explore USC is the 10th/11th.

hey lobsta,

my interviewer told me april 1, but it's prolly more likely a few days before. what did your interviewer say??

I didn't ask, it didn't seem right for me to bring it up. I searched the archives though and noticed that previous finalists seemed to receive them on the last monday of march (probably just a coincidence). I hate having to receive letters in the mail!

lobsta, i didn't bring it up-the interviewer told me "the final steps" of the process before ending my interview.

and yeah, mail sucks

do you have to get invited to Explore USC?

yeah (10 chars...)

Syawn, who'd you interview with? Each panel had their own questions/procedures. Sitting in the lobby, some kids were asked a current affairs question yet I wasn't asked one. Good luck though. I'm kind of on edge because unless I get that scholarship I doubt I can go to USC. There were plenty of qualified people at the interviews though, so I bet the decision is ultimately based on who they think is passionate about their studies and who interested them in their interviews.

lobsta, i interviewed w/ the engineering school-how bout u?? and yeah i agree that some ppl got some wack current events questions. luckily i didnt get one :)

"There were plenty of qualified people at the interviews though, so I bet the decision is ultimately based on who they think is passionate about their studies and who interested them in their interviews."

i completely agree

I interviewed with the college. Apparently there were far more engineering students at the second explore USC than the first. At the opening meeting, every other person was a biomedical engineering major. It didn't help that nearly all the other people had my major of international relations though (i guess it too must be popular).
It's funny though. There were only three people from AZ (me being one of them) at the second Explore USC; all of them being girls too (woohoo!). Syawn, where are you from?

o really? like how many engineering students, do u estimate?? yeah there were also a lot of biomed eng majors at my session too-thank god i'm chemical haha

i'm from so cal

At my explore session there were about 30 biomed engineering majors (no joke!) it was insane...I was at the third USC session (but wasn't a bme major...in the minority!)

Good to see that BME is popular at USC. I'm a BME major too.

I was at the first explore section, and the worst question/comment in my interview was about the quote I wrote about in my application. I sort of had to fudge my way through it, because I couldn't remember the precise wording.

They asked me all questions about my quick takes, not what I was expecting. I guess it's good that I actually put answers I meant, otherwise I would have had to bury my head under the table.

Nikara, you're new. What's your major and where are you from?

The best question they asked me was: Pick any topic of global concern and tell us your views on it.
I blasted Bush and his Iraq war and the upcoming tension in Iran haha! Great question!

I just found this page yesterday. I am undecided, but want to do Pre-med. I am from the So. Cal. area, about half an hour away from the college in question.

so when's the earliest do u think we'll hear

early next week?

i think so too-ahh nervous as hell
