Trustee Scholarship! yaya

Question for Trustee Schoars: Would you take it over an Ivy???

I am, over Penn.

I am going to HPME

Woooooo! I got the Trustee!

I got the Trustee FINALLY today (syawn!) and I am taking it over Dartmouth.

For the people who got the Trustee scholarship, what are your stats?

Has anyone from WI, IL, or the midwest received notification yet?? I still haven't heard!!

congrats haley! georgia trustees representin!

hey haley8733, congrats! see u in the fall then

Have any Presidential Scholarship finalists been bumped up to a Trustee? (Im sorry...I dont feel like rummaging through the 7 pages of posts...)

Wheeee! Congratulations everyone! I found out just today that I got the Trustee Scholarship! I was jumping up and down with joy! See, I interviewed for the Presidential Scholarship, so I didn't even think that I had a chance with the full-tuition scholarship, but lo and behold, I got it! It means that I'm definitely going! I'm so happy! When I visited it for the Explore USC weekend, I fell in love with the campus! I'm glad that my greatest wish came true!

My stats: Texas resident / Business major (although I'm going to change it to Electrical Engineering) / SAT:1580 / PSAT:240 / ACT:35 / female

I sent in the Acceptance sheet for Trustee Scholars, but do we need to send in a deposit (since we don't have to pay for tuition) ?

That's awesome to get bumped up to Trustee!!! Congrats!!

lobsta,
I think so. In the large packet that they sent with the original acceptance letter it said that if you weren't paying tuition, the $300 would be applied to a non-tuition fee (e.g. housing, meal plan, etc.)

HAHA...nice...Go Engineering! (wow...Im such a loser...)

The business school (or CLAS...whichever undergrad school you're in....) is gonna be mad...but Viterbi will love you...

Each school only has a certain number of scholarships to give out...so you are stealing one from Business/CLAS and giving it to Viterbi!

Congrats!

I know this is sort of late, but I was on a trip to Colorado all week, so I got to hear about everything over the phone. I got Trustee and Thematic Option. That means I'm definitely going to USC. My dad isn't all that happy (he went to Stanford), but he is excited about a full scholarship. 34 ACT, 1440 SAT, really good leadership/service things. Pre-med, undeclared. My last stat is that I am a competitive jump roper. Yes, they do exist. I wouldn't mention it, except that my last interview question was if I had anything interesting I wanted to say about myself, and I started to talk about this. The people interviewing me were really into it, and asked me all sorts of questions about it. I sort of think that is why I got the scholarship!

Yey, congrats fellow Trustee.

I have a son enrolling @ USC this fall paying full sticker price(that hurts) and a daughter who is one year behind who could very well fall in love with the school. The pres. or trustee scholarship would obviously be a huge help financially. Her stats are 3.99+ unw.(only 1 B+), lots AP, top 1% class(3rd/300+), no SAT/ACT results yet(what score do you think it would take with her GPA/class rank/AP ?). Any Pres/Trust. recipients care to share their stats or thoughts on how well she needs to test or otherwise(importance of interview, etc.)

Hey, I got the trustee, so hopefully I can answer any questions.

First of all, make sure she does the Part I application (shows USC an interest, due in october, its just basic informatioin), and make sure she gets the Part II in by the scholarship deadline. Also, I would suggest taking the SAT IIs. They recommend them for scholarship students. Also, they suggest doing one in writing/english and one in math. I did writing, bio, and us history, just for reference.

Her stats sound very good, esp if she's 3rd in her class. I had a 4.05 and my school does not rank. If i were her, i'd work extra hard to try to get that 3.99 to a 4.0, something about that number just looks better. It's hard to say on SAT, but definitely over 1400. I had a 1500. Another important emphasis is how much leadership or community service or diverse activities she's done. I had alot of diverse activities (really heavy in theatre and writing, lots of leadership (president, etc), some random clubs here or there)

Interview is very important. My friend last year was a Pres. finalist and got bumped up to Trustee due to her interview. Basically, be yourself. I interviewed with the school of theatre, and i just told them how much i loved theatre and USC. they were impressed that I was writing a musical, but i don't think that's a requirement of the scholarship :)

Good luck to your daughter, and fight on!
