Everywhere I look for information on Hopkin's I find different statistics. For example one website says the average acceptance for students coming from High School is a 4.69GPA and above 2300 on the SAT's, are these figures true?

Go to collegeboard.com. As much as some people don't like it, it really is pretty good with statistics about certain schools. And those numbers are certainly false.

When at all possible, try to get your information straight from the horse's mouth:

http://apply.jhu.edu/facts/facts.html
http://apply.jhu.edu/facts/facts.html
http://apply.jhu.edu/facts/facts.html

Those are the right numbers. They do NOT report average GPA since it's so subjective/hard to interpret.

Hope that clears things up :)

also, most resources give the middle 50% of ENROLLED students (college board, Princeton Review...). Some resources (like JHU's website) give the midle 50% for ACCEPTED students. I think i heard that jhu gives the accepted student profile because they hadn't calculated the enrolled #s yet. But i can only imagine that the real reason they use the most recent accepted #s instead of past enrolled #s is that the accepted #s are usually a little (but noticeably) higher. sry if i dont make sense

Thanks for the information.

And yes, you, fragaholic, do make sense.

haha i knew there could be a problem when even i had trouble following my post

There are only two sites where I will vouch for the credibility of the admissions statistics:

Our Admissions Fast Facts page:
http://apply.jhu.edu/facts/facts.html

And the University's General Facts and Stats pages:
http://members.ucan-network.org/jhu

Which ever site the original poster is speaking about is absolutely wrong since a 4.69 GPA is a weighted GPA and any GPA that our office presents for statistical purposes will also be an unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Also the CollegeBoard web site fails to update their information often so I do not consider them a trusted site either.

Thanks for the information.
