So I’m currently at UC Santa Barbara, I just started here. I regretted not applying to Cal Poly around April of last year, because I took a big interest in Biomedical Engineering, a major which UCSB doesn’t offer, but Cal Poly does. I wanted to apply to Cal Poly this year, because I figure transferring after one year will be a lot easier to adjust to than after two.

Anyway, obviously I don’t have any GPA for UCSB because I just started here. However, I am hoping for around a 3.5+. I have around 60 transferable units from AP tests though.

I hear if you’re trying to transfer in one year, they take a look at your SAT scores sometimes. My SAT score was 1440 for Critical Reading and Math (690CR, 750M). I hear they don’t look at Writing, but my Writing was 640. My weighted GPA for high school was around 4.1.

I’m taking a lot of general engineering, math and sciences classes (I’m in Calculus 2 right now).

So I was just wondering if I stood any chance of getting in, or if I would just be wasting my time and maybe should wait for two years.
